Why Heroes 2026 Will Be the Most Impactful Event Yet
In Broward County, that quote is not just inspirational, it’s a
reality.
Since 2018, Heroes has brought together students, families, sponsors, and community leaders with one purpose: to make a difference in the lives of people who are blind or have impaired vision with life-changing services provided by Lighthouse of Broward.
What began as an alliance between American Heritage Schools
and Lighthouse of Broward has grown to be one of the most
meaningful annual benefit concerts in the community. In 2026,
it promises to be the most impactful year.
How It All Started
Heroes come alive because of a powerful relationship between American Heritage Schools and Lighthouse of Broward. The students do not just attend, they lead.
Whether it is organizing the events, running the show, or
participating in the music, dance, and arts, the students play an
active role in making the evening a special one. Their
commitment leaves a lasting imprint on theLighthouse community and demonstrates what young leaders can achieve
when they rally around a worthy cause.
What began as a benefit concert has now become something
more: a movement that embodies compassion, leadership, and
service.
The Growing Impact
Since 2018, Heroes has continued to grow with more attendees, sponsors, volunteers, and community awareness.
With each ticket purchased and each donation given, Lighthouse of Broward continues to grow its services. Lighthouse of Broward provides vision rehabilitation, life skills training, and independence training to those who suffer from vision loss. The need continues to grow, so does the
community’s response. That’s why 2026 is more important than ever.
Heroes is more than just a fundraiser. It is a night that brings a community together with a common purpose. Students, educators, families, donors, and sponsors come together not only to celebrate our students’ talents, but also to invest in the hope, independence, and opportunity that our students deserve. The theme for this year’s event is Denim and Diamonds.
What to Expect:
- Cocktail reception with appetizers.
- Live music and student performances.
- School band, dance, and acting groups.
- Live auction for Lighthouse programs.
- Heroes, clients, and families recognized
for their strength and inspiration in the
face of adversity.
Throughout the evening, we will be honoring those individuals who have learned that despite their blindness or visual impairment with the right help, they too can be independent.
When our community shows up, lives change.
This year, we want you to be a part of that change.
